  1. Make sure your vehicle is in good working condition:
    1. Make sure you are up to date with all standard car servicing.
    2. Check your tires’ air pressure and condition before driving.
    3. Have your brakes and suspension inspected regularly.
    4. Ensure you have clean and clear windows.
  2. Check your physical and mental ability before driving
    1. You must be stable mentally.
    2. Ensure you are not under the influence of drugs, alcohol. Also be sure any prescription medication is allowed while driving.
    3. Make sure you are physically capable of driving.
  3. Concentrate on the road:
    1. Do not make calls while driving.
    2. Do not text and drive,
    3. Do not adjust the radio while driving.
    4. Do not eat and drive.
    5. Stay off all social media while driving.
    6. Stay off your phone in general.
  4. Always wear your seatbelt:
    1. Seat belts and car seats save lives. Before starting the car, make sure you and all passengers are properly secured.
  5. Drive within the posted speed limits:
    1. Drive within the speed limits, and slow down whenever conditions or weather dictate.
  6. Follow all laws of the road:
    1. Make sure you understand all road signs and rules before getting behind the wheel. Failing to follow the rules of the road can result in citations, as well as injury to yourself and other drivers.
  7. Expect the unexpected:
    1. Even if you are a perfect driver, be mindful that others may not be. You must be mindful of other drivers, road and weather conditions, and always maintain a safe braking distance.
