Deadly Crash in Chesterfield, Virginia

August 31, 2020 – 58-Year-old man killed in an unusual car accident on I-95.

Deadly Crash in Chesterfield, VirginiaOn August 31, 2020 in Chesterfield, Virginia, Virginia State Police reported that a 58-year-old man who was identified as Silverio Santos-Cesario died in a car crash on I-95 South.

All southbound lanes were closed for traffic for nearly 5 hours on the I-95 near West Hundred Road as teams worked to remove debris at the accident site.

One of the Virginia State Troopers at the scene explained that the accident was caused by car traveling north on I-95 that lost a tire which shot across the median and struck a Toyota Tacoma truck heading southbound on I-95.

The truck driver, Silverio Santo-Cesario, pulled over and exited his truck to inspect the damage, when suddenly a Nissan Sentra hit the truck, propelled it forward and ran him over.

Santos-Cesario who died at the scene was traveling with a woman who suffered non-life-threatening injuries.  The driver of the Nissan Sentra also survived and was treated at Chippenham Hospital.
